Bridesmaids Budget

Sometimes, being a bridesmaid is not a cheap honor, but the things that you will do for your closest friends are well worth all the trouble. There are many things which you will have to splash out cash for and we will show you just how to go about saving a few dollars along the way.

The Bridesmaids Dress
You should be budgeting between $200 and $300 for the bridesmaids dress. Don't forget to budget in any alterations which may need to be done. You will also want to try and find something that you will be able to wear again sometime.

Lingerie
The dress you choose may require a strapless bra, or perhaps seamless panties, or something else. You will want to keep in your budget around $50 just for such a requirement.

If you are looking for ways to save a little, ask a friend who has a similar figure to you if you could borrow and item or two. You may want to consider not wearing hose if it is a summer wedding as well.

Shoes
I wouldn't really budget more than $80 on the shoes. If you have the option, you could save a few dollars with dyeable shoes that you may have had, or perhaps those which a friend has.

Jewellery & Accessories
You could budget around $60 for jewellery for the big day and probably no more than that. Be sure also to coordinate jewellery with the other bridesmaids and try and keep it simple.

Hair & Makeup
Hair is always special and so you will need to budget around $100-$150 to have your hair and makeup done. This is perhaps one area that you wont really want to skimp out on, especially if you want to look your best.

The Bridesmaids Budget

If you are looking to save a little money here, then perhaps you could either do your own hair and make-up, or if you know a friend who can help you out.

Accommodations
If you have to do any traveling and the bride and groom have not organized any accommodation for out of town guests, then there is a good chance that you will have to book a hotel room for a few nights. Here you could be looking at anywhere up to $200 a night, perhaps more depending on your tastes and requirements. Don't forget to budget for tipping.

If you are looking for ways to cut your accommodation costs, then you will need to find a friend or relative you can share with, or someone you can stay with for the duration of the wedding. Do a little research before you book into the nearest hotel and make sure that it is the cheapest.
