Destination Wedding Attire

What you choose to wear for your destination wedding can be decided on a number of different factors. Personal style, wedding location and budget. Do you go for traditional or something simple?

Which Wedding Dress
Destination weddings are a little different in many aspects, and choosing your wedding dress can be a little more difficult. In most cases brides tend to choose a wedding dress which suits the destination’s theme. If you were getting married at a resort on a tropical island you would hardly chose a Victorian wedding gown?

Choose a dress which you are going to feel comfortable in – and since you are getting married somewhere a little different don’t be afraid to choose a dress which is a little different. Play with colors, fabric and style to find something stunning.

Where to Buy Your Wedding Attire
If you are traveling to get married, you might be wondering where to purchase your destination wedding attire. Some people prefer to buy something while they're still at or near their home, as then they can spend a lot of time trying on different styles and finding something that fits perfectly. Another choice is to buy your wedding dress or outfit when you get to your destination. Talk to a destination wedding specialist for ideas on locations, and once you've picked a destination you can search for dress shops and other stores that are located near your wedding site.

What About The Groom
As with most weddings, the groom tends to have it much easier. As most destination weddings are less formal than traditional weddings you could easily forget about having a tux. Rather go with a light suit or something less formal. Remember though, that you will want to have something which fits the theme and style of your destination and your brides dress.

Getting Your Clothes To The Wedding
Some destinations which specialise in weddings may offer you’re the ability to hire or buy the outfits on location, but if you are not able to do so, then you will have to get your clothing there with you. If you are flying this can often pose a problem – especially for the bride – as wedding outfits tend to take up a lot of space.

One way to get around this is to have your wedding outfits packed as hand luggage. There are two advantages to this – it wont get lost, and it will easily fit into most carry on size cases.
