Wedding Planning Guide Step 4

You’ve booked a venue for your wedding, put together a preliminary guest list and found someone to officiate at your wedding (see Planning Guide 3: Venues and Guests). Now it’s time to start paying attention to the “details”.

Wedding Vendors

There are several wedding vendors that you are going to have to find and book during this phase of wedding planning. Although most people immediately think of the wedding gown or cake, it is often the less obvious things that determine how your guests will remember your big day, so it’s worth putting some thought into these very important parts of your wedding.

The Caterer

If the food at your wedding is good, people won’t remember it at all. However, a bad meal will be remembered by your guests for years to come. The caterer and the meal served on your big day are, therefore, extremely important parts of your wedding.

Start looking for a caterer now, making sure they are capable of producing a meal which fits into your wedding theme and suits your budget. Ask potential caterers to provide sample menus, and if possible attend a “tasting”, before making a decision.

Photographer and Videographer

Although your choice of photographer may not affect your wedding day, it certainly can affect how you look back on the day. There is no “undo button” for bad wedding photography, so you need to be sure that it gets done well in the first place. Wedding Music

Your choice of wedding music can affect the overall mood of your wedding. From the ceremony music to the reception music, it's another one of those subtle things that can make a big difference.
