This wedding planning guide as a pointer to start off your wedding planning and ensure that you have a basic idea of what may be required at each stage of your planning.

After you announce your engagement:
Now would be the perfect time to sit down with you families and outline all the wedding plans. From themes, to colors,
wedding budget to number of
guests.
Establish who pays for which wedding expenses
You will need to start looking at as many reception sites as you can and make your booking as the earlier you book, this may save yourselves money in the end.
Discuss your wedding cake and start getting quotes and costing's for the cake you have decided on.
Start looking at
honeymoon locations. Once again booking well in advance will save you money.
Six Months to go to your Wedding:
Order your
wedding dress. Remember to leave enough time for any fitting adjustments that may need to be made.
Choose your bidesmaids and
groomsmen and place the orders for their outfits. See our wedding gallery for great ideas!
Book hotel rooms or make arrangements for any
out of town guests that may have a long distance to travel after the wedding
Make the final arrangements for the DJ and Photographer for the wedding, as well as final arrangements and bookings for the catering and the reception.
Honeymoon arrangements should also be nearing finalization. Contact your travel agent to make deposit payments, or ticket purchases.
Four Months to go to your Wedding:
Purchase Wedding invitations and Thank you cards.
Contact florists and make arrangements to get pricings and ideas for the wedding flowers.
Plan your Rehearsal Dinner.
Book a limousine or other transportation. Once again the earlier you book the more money you may save yourself.

Three Months to go to your Wedding:
Send out your wedding invitations.
Make sure all required documentation (religious, legal, medical) has been completed and sent in.
Choose your wedding rings.
Make final arrangements with the florist.
Choose and purchase any wedding decoration that you are going to be needing, those not being taken care of by the florist or caterer.
Two Months to go to your Wedding:
Consult with the florist and the caterers and anyone else providing you with a service for your wedding.
Make appointments at the hairdresser for the bride and bridesmaids.
Finalize plans for the rehearsal dinner.
One Month to go to your Wedding:
Finalize your wedding accessories, such as bridal gown, jewellery, shoes etc.
Confirm hotel bookings for the wedding night and the honeymoon.
Get marriage license.
Send the invitations for the rehearsal dinner to those who are invited.
Prepare wedding announcements. These will be sent a few days prior to the wedding.
Fill out change of address cards and drop these off at the relevant places.
Confirm all your bookings and arrangements with all the vendors, Florist, travel agent etc.
One Week to go to your Wedding:
Confirm final head count and seating arrangements with caterer
Meet with your photographer and DJ to confirm arrangements and song list.
Get a friend to go through everything to make sure you haven't forgotten anything important such as the wedding rings.
The Day before your Wedding:
Hand the wedding rings to the care of the best man.
Attend the rehearsal dinner.
Relax and have a good night’s sleep.
